The New Taylor's Ridge Avenue

Quick review: I recently ate at the renovated Taylor's on Ridge Avenue, and was quite impressed.  The inside, which never recovered from years of smokers and was a dingy shade of dingy, is now bright, modern, airy, comfortable and inviting.  While a touch too Ikea-ish, the layout and opening of the space can only be described as a massive improvement.  The cherry on the visual sundae is the outdoor patio area, large enough for 8 tables of four, with a huge projection screen that I look forward to enjoying Phillies games on come spring.

The menu also is impressive - burgers that are fresh and delicious, home made potato chips, omelettes that are filled the way you want them, with what you want, folded to perfection, dinner entrees that are fairly priced, delicious and filling, and my dirty little secret - a sweet belgian waffle covered in their creamed chip beef - for $4!  Best of all Taylor's is now a BYOB - and being right next door to The Foodery creates a perfect diner storm of goodness and value.  For you old-school Roxborough residents the menu retains some of the old items, at very reasonable prices - but be warned, the coffee is now excellent, if not often quite hot enough due to the thermoses they store it in.

Service was attentive and quick, and a mistake with one item we ordered was rapidly corrected without any of the attitude so common in restaurants these days.  Pricing is somewhat higher, but lower than at Davia's or Bob's Diner.  I highly recommend the new Taylors - now with dinner hours on some days!
