$5,000 Worth of Jewelry Stolen, Police Say

Two unrelated Roxborough burglaries end with over $5,000 in jewelry stolen.

Burglary: On Feb. 18, at approximately 12 p.m., police received a report of a burglary in the 300 block of Delmar Street.  According to police, there was no sign of forced entry, and the stolen items included a gold necklace, an emerald and diamond necklace, a diamond ring and a silver wedding band.  Police estimate the value of the stolen items to be around $3,000.

Burglary: On Feb. 28, at approximately 9:50 a.m., police received a report of a burglary in the 400 block of Green Lane.  According to police, the front door of the residence was kicked in and a safe was taken from the premises.  Police say that the safe contained $1,000 cash and a jewelry box.  Police estimate the value of the jewelry to be $2,000.
