Attempted Bank Robbery on Ridge Ave, FBI Says

Authorities are reporting that the TD Bank at 5501 Ridge was robbed Thursday morning.

The following information has been provided by the Philadelphia branch of the FBI:

Philadelphia Police and FBI representatives are investigating an attempted bank robbery that took place in Roxborough Thursday morning.

According to a release from the Philadelphia branch of the FBI, an unknown man entered the TD Bank at 5501 Ridge Avenue at approximately 10:20 a.m. Thursday morning and presented a teller with a note demanding money.

It is unclear at this time if the unknown man left the bank with any money.

Authorities describe the man as being in his late 20s, approximately 5'10", goatee, and wearing a dark jacket and gloves at the time of the incident.

This robbery represents the second bank robbery in the Northwest in 2013. The Citizens Bank on Stenton Avenue in Mt. Airy was robbed on Jan 24.
