Boss Robs Employee, Student Assaults Principal, and More Police Blotter

The following is a selection from a list of incidents the Philadelphia Police Department provided Patch on April 20.

According to police, an employee of Jim's Auto Service arrived at their Fifth District headquarters on April 4 and reported that his employer stole his car at gunpoint earlier that evening.

Police said the complainant reported that at 6 p.m. his employer approached him, alleged that he owed him money, and when he denied the debt, demanded that he take a polygraph test. When the complainant refused, the offender punched him four or five times in the face, then pointed a handgun at his chest, and demanded the keys to his 2004 Chrysler Sebring. He told police he handed them over.

Police said the complainant had no signs of physical injury when he reported the incident and that he refused medical treatment.

Police said that when an officer transported him back to the service center, his car was gone.

Armed Robbery

According to police, a man reported that two young men robbed him at gunpoint on the corner of Walnut Lane and Henry Avenue on April 9 at 1:10 a.m.

Police said the gunmen approached the complainant and said "Give me everything," before taking a backpack, an iPhone, and $300.

Vehicle Theft

According to police, sometime between April 1 at 2 p.m. and April 4 at 4:30 p.m., a vehicle was stolen from Keller's Auto Body at 360 Domino Lane, Philadelphia. The vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Blazer valued at $8,000, was at Keller's undergoing repairs when it was stolen. The owner of the car says he did not take it.

Vehicle Theft

According to police, a man reported that on April 8 sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., his vehicle was stolen while he was inside Murphy's Tavern at 5998 Henry Avenue in Philadelphia.

The vehicle, a 2002 Honda Accord, is valued at $10,000.

Assault

According to police, a student at Levering School on 478 Gerhard Street in Philadelphia assaulted her principal over a confiscated cell phone on April 6.

Police said the principal reported that at 2:55 p.m., the student became angry when she was told her previously confiscated cell phone would not be returned and began ripping items off the office wall. The student finally threw a metal tray from a filing cabinet at the principal, striking her in the side of the head.

Police said the offender was gone by the time they arrived. The principal reported no injuries and told police she does not wish to pursue the matter criminally.

Stolen Motorbike

Police said they received a report that overnight, between April 6 and April 7, a motorcycle was stolen from the front of a residence at 3700 Cresson Street in Philadelphia.

According to police, the bike, a red Honda valued at $6,500, was reported to have a flat tire and a dead battery at the time it was stolen.

Theft

According to police, the manager of the Wine and Spirits store on 3720 Main Street in Philadelphia said she witnessed a man steal two bottles of Grey Goose vodka from the store on April 8.

Police said that at 8:25 p.m., the manager observed the male leave the store without paying for the vodka, then get in a dark vehicle and pull away.
