Pair Arrested in Botched Wissahickon Home Break-in

The following arrest information was supplied by the 5th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

arrested a man and woman March 25 for an attempted burglary on the 5400 block of Quentin Street in Wissahickon.

A resident woke up at 1:45 a.m. after hearing a loud bang coming from his back door, police said. After going downstairs, he told police he saw John Pinto, 31, and Dana Clark, 27, trying to enter his home by breaking glass on his sliding doors. 

When police arrived, the pair had already shattered one pane. They attempted to flee. Police initially apprehended Clark.

Pinto originally escaped down an alley. However, police arrested him on the 200 block of Rock Street. 

Police transported both to the Northwest Detective Division.

As they never entered the home, nothing was reported missing.

Manayunk Assault

While walking by Spanky's Bar March 25, a man said two unknown men verbally abused him and his friend. 

At 2 a.m., two people were walking down Umbria Street, when two men began shouting profanities at them. The men ran after the one man, and chased him to the 4700 block of Smick Street.

There, police said, the men kicked and punched the man in the face.

Medical crews transported the man to Roxborough Memorial Hospital, where he received eight stitches to his face.

Woman Arrested for Shoplifting

Police arrested a woman March 21 for reportedly taking $188 in jewelry, shoes and a hat from the Andorra Kohl's.

Store security observed Yvonne Davis, 56, attempting to leave the store without paying for items. She was detained.

Police arrested her, recovered the merchandise, and transported Davis to Northwest Detective Division for questioning.

Roxborough Resident Stealing Electricity

A resident from the 4100 block of Pechin Street told police he suspected a former friend was stealing electricity. PECO and City Licenses & Inspections were notified.

PECO arrived to investigate and confirmed the person was illegally running electricity into his apartment. The person was not initially located.
