Downed Tree on Main Street Won't Impact Arts Fest

Crews are on the scene removing the tree to make way for the Manayunk Arts Festival.

Part of Main Street in Manayunk was closed Friday night after a tree fell around 8:30 p.m. on a car in front of .

Police said no one was in the car and no one else was harmed.

Main Street was closed to cars between Shurs Lane to Pennsdale Street, but no businesses were closed and people seem to be enjoying their ice cream at Chloe’s despite the tree. Traffic reopened before 11 p.m.

The Parks Department was on the scene, and police said the tree would not impact the in the morning.
