Food Truck Explodes in Philly, Two Remain Critical

Philadelphia police said a leaking propane tank caused the explosion, which happened around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.

A food truck exploded on Tuesday in Philadelphia’s Feltonville neighborhood, injuring at least 12 people. 

Five of the injured were initially reported in critical condition, NBC10 said. As of Wednesday, a mother and her 17-year-old daughter who were working in the truck are still listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital, according to NBC 10.

The truck, called La Parrillada Chapina, was parked outside an auto body shop in the 300 block of West Wyoming Avenue, according to 6 ABC.

A SEPTA police officer who was on duty nearby responded immediately and found multiple victims in the street. One of the victims was on fire, 6 ABC reported.
