Have any old, unused prescription drugs lying around in your medicine cabinet?

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is coordinating a national effort to safely dispose of potentially dangerous expired medicines from the nation's medicine cabinets, starting with a free disposal day Sept. 25.

"With this National Prescription Drug Take-Back campaign, we are aggressively reaching out to individuals to encourage them to rid their households of unused prescription drugs that pose a safety hazard and can contribute to prescription drug abuse," said Acting Deputy Attorney General Gary G. Grindler in a statement.
