'I Hope I Killed You' Shouted at Hit Park Ranger

A man hits a Fairmount Park Ranger with his truck after he's issued a parking ticket.

A Fairmount Park Ranger told police that he was issuing a parking violation to a vehicle parked in the 7600 block of Forbidden Drive when the owner of the vehicle hit the ranger with his car, police said.

The ranger began issuing a parking violation to a pickup truck on Nov. 2, at approximately 4:18 p.m., at that time, the ranger and the owner of the truck got into a verbal dispute over the ticket, police said.

The owner of the vehicle then hit the ranger with the truck, knocking him to the ground, police said.

The driver then shouted out the window "I hope I killed you" and drove off, police said.

The park ranger suffered back and leg pain and was taken to Germantown Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the truck was later arrested after he was identified by the ranger and witnesses.
