Inspector of Collapsed Center City Building Found Dead

A man who inspected the building that collapsed in Center City last week is found dead in Roxborough.

Police said they found the body of a 52-year-old man in the front seat of a pickup truck with a single gunshot wound to his chest in the 100 block of Shawmont Avenue at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police are investigating the incident as a suicide.

Police told Philly.com that the man was an L&I building inspector named Ronald Wagenhoffer who inspected the building that collapsed in Center City last week.

Wagenhoffer was found dead less than a mile from his home, according to NBC Philadelphia.
