Main St. Assault, Henry Ave. Domestic Incident Reported

The following arrest information was supplied by the 5th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

responded to two acts of reported violence March 11 in Manayunk and Roxborough.

At 1:50 a.m. that Sunday morning, police arrived on the 4400 block of Main Street due to a reported aggravated assault.

Two witnesses told police a man struck another man in the face with brass knuckles, knocking the first man out.

He was transported to Roxborough Memorial Hospital and received six stitches. Police identified a suspect, but did not indicate an arrest.

Later that night, at 10 p.m., a domestic disturbance reportedly occurred on the 7900 block of Henry Avenue.

A female told police her boyfriend punched her in the face with a closed fist and took her cell phone, which had been the subject of an argument. He fled the scene.

Police apprehended the man walking along the road, where he admitted to punching her and taking the phone. He was arrested, and police did not disclose his name.

The alleged victim suffered bruises to her face and neck, police said.

Roxborough Crime Thwarted

Due to a citizen's information, police stopped thefts from cars as they were happening.

At 10:30 p.m. March 9, a resident told police he observed a woman jiggling door handles along the 300 block of Leverington Avenue.

Police checked out the scene and apprehended the woman, who had taken a bag with children's school work and a Boscovs' bag with a purse in it. The witness identified her, and police arrested her. Police did not release her name.

Super Fresh Shoplifting

Police arrested a woman March 11 for reportedly taking $393 worth of baby formula and diapers without paying for it.

A store employee contacted police upon noticing the woman attempting to take the merchandise without paying. Police arrested her in the parking lot.

According to police records, she was involved in another incident.
