Main Street Closed
A possible manhole explosion around 7:30 p.m. closed Main Street from Shurs Lane to Ridge Avenue Monday evening.

Police officers said it was a "cockeyed" manhole cover that led to the closing of Main Street from Shurs Lane to Ridge Avenue Monday evening.
Around 7:30 p.m. officers said they were waiting for PECO to arrive at the scene and were unsure how long the road would be closed. Although it could have been an explosion, officers said it was too soon to tell what caused the dislodged manhole.
Officers said there was no smoke or fire and fire engines were seen leaving the scene.
