Neighbor Thwarts Bike Theft, Police Say

A Rite Aid employee also thwarts a theft attempt.

Theft: On April 1, at approximately 11:10 p.m., police received a report of a theft at the Rite Aid located at 5911 Ridge Ave.  According to police, an employee noticed a person in the store concealing merchandise in a gray bag.  The employee detained the person, police say, until officers arrived on the scene and made an arrest.  Police say that the person attempted to steal four bottle of shampoo, three bottles of conditioner and four shaving razors.

Theft: On April 1, at approximately 3:15 p.m. police received a report of a theft in the 300 block of Leverington Avenue.  According to police, a neighbor saw an unknown person in the yard attempting to steal a bicycle from the premises.  Police say the neighbor yelled at the thief who dropped the bike and ran away.
