No Arrests Made During Sunday's Bike Race

Police say this year's race was more family friendly.

Officer Charlie Kline of the Philadelphia 5th Police District said that police made no arrests during Sunday’s bike race.

“We made zero arrests during the race,” Kline said.  “There were a lot of families there, and we didn’t have some of the incidents that we’ve had in the past.”

Kline attributed to the less-rowdy atmosphere at the bike race to a door-to-door effort by the police department.

“We went to every house on the course,” Kline said.  “We went door to door, and told the residents that they would be arrested for any behavior that was out of line.”

Kline added that the police also posted flyers throughout the neighborhood warning residents that irresponsible behavior would not be tolerated.
