Police Arrest Gift Card Bandit

Police arrested a man who stole an Amazon gift card valued at $50 from a home in the 100 block of Carson Street on Dec. 20.

At around 12:33 p.m., on Dec. 20, the homeowner came home to discover an unknown person in his kitchen, police said.

The man's girlfriend was also home at the time, but she was on the third floor and did not hear the intruder, police said.  

Once the intruder saw the man return home, he ran out of the house through a rear door.  

The intruder was heading west on Conarroe Street when he was stopped by a police officer on routine patrol.

The intruder was positively identified by the victim; however, the gift card was not recovered.
