Police Arrest Man Connected to Three Local Incidents

The following arrest information was supplied by the 5th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

arrested a man during a February domestic disturbance call when he confessed to three separate crimes.

Responding to a call Feb. 25, police began questioning a Roxborough man from the 500 block of Livezey Street. He admitted to involvement in three recent incidents and was arrested. Police did not release his name.

The arrested confessed to a burgarly at Liberty Gas Station (5125 Umbria St.), an attempted robbery at 7-Eleven (7607 Ridge Ave.) and another incident at Hopkins Pharmacy (7700 Ridge Ave.).

At 5 a.m. Feb. 25, police responded to a burglary alarm at the gas station. Three locks to the front door were pried open, probably by two black hammers and a 15-inch pipe found nearby, police said. Police lifted a fingerprint from the scene. 

The man reportedly took 14 packs of Newport cigarettes, worth $112.

Later that morning, at 6:10 a.m., police said the man attempted to rob the 7-Eleven with a .357 magnum. He struck an employee in the head with the gun, cutting him above the left eye. 

After a struggle, police said the man dropped the gun and fled the scene. He took nothing from the store.

In his arrest later that day, police said he confessed to a similar incident at the pharmacy, as well. 

Man Arrested in Botched Citizens Bank Break-in

Police arrested a man after he broke a bank window and robbed someone who attempted to stop him.

A man watched another man throw a rock through a window at Citizens Bank, 6098 Ridge Ave. Feb 26 at 12:40 a.m. He yelled at him to stop.

The man ran at him, and punched him with a closed fist in the back of his head. He ripped off the man's headphones and broke them, and took his backpack.

An officer successfully stopped the man and arrested him, following a positive ID. His name was not released.

The man who stopped the break-in suffered a bump on his neck. He recovered his items.

Ridge Avenue Strong-Arm Robbery

While walking on the 6400 block of Ridge Ave., a man told police he was the victim of strong-armed robbery. The man said that on Feb. 22 at 2:50 p.m., a teenage male (wearing an unknown school uniform) approach him, demanding his money. He forcefully took the person's cell phone, valued at $80. 

Police said no injuries were sustained.
