Police Arrest Man in Domestic Abuse Incident

The following arrest information was supplied by the 5th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Roxborough man was arrested May 24 in connection to domestic abuse.

arrived at 7000 Ridge Ave. at 8:57 p.m. on reports of a woman trapped in a bedroom with a man wielding a gun.

The man reportedly kicked down the bedroom door, threatened the woman and brandished a .22 caliber gun.

When police arrived, the man slammed the door in an officer's face. The police then broke down the front door, and the man was arrested.

Police did not release his name.

Stolen iPhone Recovered

Philadelphia Police arrested a male and female from Delaware for reportedly taking an iPhone. A woman reported her iPhone stolen May 21 on the 300 block of Krams Avenue in Roxborough. 

The offenders reportedly grabbed the phone from the home's outside deck and fled. GPS was used to track down the phone, and police arrested the two at 8th and Market Streets in Center City. 

Police did not disclose names.

Stolen Wallet Taken From Bayou Found

A female reportedly took money from a customer's wallet at the Bayou Bar and Grille on Main Street in Manayunk. When she left the bar May 22, she dropped the wallet but kept the money.

Later, police found her, cash in hand, at the corner of Levering and Cresson Streets. The male customer identified her to police, and she was arrested.

Police did not disclose her name.

5 Thefts From Cars in One Night

On May 27, residents—mostly in Andorra and Upper Roxborough—reported five instances where items were stolen from their vehicles. For four of them, the cars were broken into. In most cases, GPS units were taken.

  • 8200 Henry Ave. GPS unit, iPhone case and flashlight stolen. $150 value. Rear window broken.
  • 700 Summit St. GPS unit. $100. Passenger side window broken.
  • Shawmont and Nixon Streets. Radio and clothing. $1,200. Rear passenger side window broken.
  • 8200 Henry Ave. 2 GPS units, iPod mini, Oakley sunglasses, and bluetooth. $700. Passenger side window broken.
  • 100 Dawson St. GPS and iPod. $550. Door left unlocked.
