Police Ask Residents to Lock Their Cars

The majority of thefts from autos in the district occur because residents haven't locked their car doors, or they leave valuables out in plain sight.

Police from the Roxborough 5th District are asking residents to make sure they lock their car doors when they aren't inside their vehicles.

This seems like a no-brainer, but the majority of theft from autos in the district occur because cars aren't locked, or residents leave valuables out in plain sight.

"Don't tempt fate or the criminals," said Officer Charlie Kline of 5th District.  "Don't leave out your cell phones, purses or GPS systems.  Keep them out of sight."

Kline added, "Always make sure your doors are locked and your security system is engaged."
