Police Blotter: Tastykakes, Tires Stolen

Incident reports from the Philadelphia Police Department.

In the early morning hours of April 27, police say they received a report of a domestic disturbance on the 200 block of Baldwin Street.

Police say the disturbance involved a woman and her boyfriend, the offender. At 4:43 a.m., following an argument, the boyfriend knocked over a lamp with a baseball bat before throwing a flatscreen TV at the complainant--striking her in the foot and causing a cut. Police say the offender then grabbed the flatscreen TV, the baseball bat, the house and car keys, $1000 in cash, and fled the complainants residence.

According to police, Later in the evening, the offender was stopped and transported to the Northwest Detective Division while the complainant was, for undisclosed reasons, arrested and charged with assaulting an officer. The offender is yet to be charged.

Tastykakes Stolen

According to police, five teenagers broke into a Tastykake truck on the afternoon of April 30 and stole five boxes of Tastykakes.

Police say the offenders broke through a rear door of the truck--parked on the 600 block of Wises Mill Road--at 5:41 p.m., then bent the metal cage that held the Tastykakes before taking the delicious items.

Aggravated Assault

Police say that on May 1 at 1:20 a.m., Joseph Stokes, a resident of the 300 block of Leverington Avenue of unknown age, assaulted a man outside of his home. Stokes used no weapons during the attack, but the victim was transported to Roxborough Hospital, where he received stitches to close a cut.

Stokes has been charged with assault.

Stolen Tires

Police say that between April 27 and April 28, they received reports of three separate tire thefts from vehicles.

According to police, overnight between April 26 and April 27, a 2005 Honda Civic parked on the 100 block of Osborn Street had its tires stolen, then the following evening a 2004 Ford Taurus parked on the 400 block of Monastery Avenue and a 2007 Cadillac Escalade parked on the 7000 block of Ridge Avenue had their tires stolen. The vehicles were left on crates.

Stolen Car

Police say that on April 29 between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. a 1987 Buick Regal was stolen from a parking lot on the 5000 block of Ridge Avenue. According to police, the complainant's vehicle was parked in the lot adjacent to his place of business.

Burglary

Police say that between April 24 at 7:30 p.m. and April 25 at 10:30 p.m., unknown persons kicked in the rear door of the residence on 4826 Silverwood Street and took a 32-inch Sony television, a PlayStation 3, six video games, and 15 DVDs. The stolen items are valued at $1700.
