Police Blotter: Thefts, Thefts and More Thefts

Theft ... Between 1 and 5 p.m. July 23, the window of a car parked in the 5400 block of Henry Avenue was smashed and approximately $955 worth of items were stolen including a pocketbook containing credit cards, a driver's license insurance cards and $430 cash, police said. 

Theft ... The manager of CVS, 3780 Main Street, contacted police July 23 at 6:35 p.m. after a man stole $148 worth of energy shot drinks, police said, adding that the man was apprehended in the 200 block of Dawson Street after he was seen attempting to hide the stolen merchandise under a parked car. 

Burglary ... Security at Roxborough Hospital contacted police July 23 at 12:48 p.m. after discovering that the door of a hospital-owned residence in the 500 block of Walnut Lane had been kicked in and entered, police said, adding that it was unknown if anything had been taken. 

Theft ... A $23,000 car was stolen from a parking lot in the 3900 block of Manayunk Avenue between 4 p.m. July 22 and 8:30 a.m. July 23, police said, adding that the owner told officers he had lost the keys to the vehicle in that area on July 21. 

Theft ... Two men stolw four cell phones, worth approximately $900 were stolen from the AT&T store, 8500 Henry Avenue, on July 23 at 12:15 p.m., police said, adding that they fled on foot toward Port Royal Avenue. 

Theft ... Two cast iron sinks, worth $400, were stolen from the 200 block of Green Lane around 8:35 a.m. July 24, police said. 

Theft ... The window of a car parked in the 200 block of Fountain Street was smashed between 12:30 and 8 p.m. July 24 and a navigation system and $60 cash was taken, police said. 

Theft ... The window of a car parked in the 800 block of Wises Mill Road was entered between 5:45 and 9 p.m. July 24 and $300 Ipod Touch was taken, police said. 

Theft ... A resident of the 5200 block of Ridge Avenue contacted police July 25 at 2:30 p.m. after she discovered that $50 of loose change was missing from her bedroom, police said. 

Theft ... A $10,000 car was stolen from the 8200 block of Henry Avenue between 6 p.m. July 24 and 9:30 a.m. July 25, police said. 

Theft ... The window of a car parked in the 7300 block of Ridge Avenue was smashed between 8 a.m. July 22 and 7:30 a.m. July 25, police said, adding that the interior of the car was ransacked but nothing appeared to be missing. 

Theft ... An employee of a business in the 500 block of Jamestown Street contacted police July 20 at 7 p.m. to report that her purse, containing her wallet, credit cards, identification, insurance cards and $60 cash had been taken from a table near her office. 

Theft ... The window of a car parked in the 4200 block of Cresson Street as broken between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. July 26, police said, adding that assorted clothing, a pair of Nike sneakers and an Ipod were taken from the car. 

Theft ... On July 26 at 6:50 p.m. a 21-year-old man attempted to steal a pair of $30 sandals from Kohls, 8500 Henry Avenue, police said, adding that he was detained and arrested. The sandals were recovered, police added. 

Theft ... A carpenter for the school district of Philadelphia was arrested July 27 after stole $270 worth of multi-electrical cords from Shawmont Elementary School, police said, adding that the items were recovered from the man's car. 

Theft ... A $100 light blue milk can was stolen from the side of a home in the 200 block of Hermitage Street, police said. 

Theft ... The window of a car parked in the 200 block of Fountain Street was entered between 6 and 9:20 p.m. July 28, police said, adding that $300 worth of items were taken including a wallet containing a Social Security card, license, debit card and various store cards. 

Attempted burglary ... A resident of the 7800 block of Ridge Avenue contacted police July 27 after discovering that the bottom lock of his apartment door was damaged, police said, adding that entry was not gained. 

Theft ... The window of a car parked in the 800 block of Bells Mill Road was smashed between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. July 28, police said, adding that $750 worth of items were taken including a cell phone and a Coach wallet containing $20 cash and various bank and identification cards. 

Theft ... Four black males stole an unknown amount of merchandise from CVS, 3780 Main Street on July 29 at 7:46 p.m., police said, adding that the men then fled southbound on Main Street in a gray Toyota Camry.
