Main Street Assault Reported Involving Brothers

The following arrest information was supplied by the 5th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

reported an aggravated assault with two brothers, resulting in the one undergoing root canal surgery.

One man told police March 16 that his brother punched him in the face March 11 on the 4400 block of Main Street. He said his brother had something in his hands, possibly brass knuckles.

He sustained a broken tooth, which resulted in a root canal to correct the injury.

Police, who did not release the brother's name, indicated he was involved in another assault case with a brother. No arrests were reported.

On the 100 block of Pensdale Street March 16 at 6:30 p.m., residents told police a man invaded their home. 

At that time, a man entered the home through the front door. He concealed his face and carried a silver revolver. He pointed it at a resident, and demanded his money. 

The resident complied, and the man took $500, police said.

A roommate, from the third floor, saw the man exit the home and head southbound on Tower Street.

No one sustained injuries.

Acme Shoplifting Arrest

Philadelphia Police responded to Acme in Roxborough March 12 due to a shoplifting report. A store employee witnessed a man attempting to leave the store without paying for two packages of diapers. Police arrested the man.

However, he was first transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center, as he told police he took six bags of heroin. Police did not release his name.

Copper Piping Theft

A resident on the 500 block of Monastery Avenue reported to police that someone removed all copper piping from his grandmother's basement.

The homeowner, an elderly women, currently resides in a nursing home, so the property was empty. On March 13, the grandson told police he found a kitchen window shattered. Police said $1,800 in copper pipes was removed. Responding officers removed multiple fingerprints.
