Police: Spray-and-Run in Road Rage Incident

Ridge Avenue conflict resulted in aggravated assault, police said.

A Ridge Avenue traffic incident resulted in one person getting sprayed with a harmful substance, Philadelphia Police reported.

While driving along the 9100 block of Ridge Avenue in Andorra, a man told police he was involved in a traffic dispute Sept. 19 at 11 a.m.

According to his police report, the man said he "accidentally cut off" another motorist, who was driving a tan Ford Crown Victoria with a disability tag.

The other driver then pulled his car up to the person's vehicle, rolled his window down and sprayed him with an unknown substance in the man's face and mouth.

The alleged sprayer continued southbound on Ridge Avenue.

Police said the man, who was victim of the aggravated assault, refused medical treatment and to be interviewed by Northwest Detective Division. He just wanted to file a police report.
