Police Warn of Recent Burglaries

Third advisory released in February.

For the third time in February, Philadelphia Police from the in Roxborough and Manayunk issued a crime alert. This time, it's home burglaries.

Community Officer Charles Kline said Monday that police have recently responded to several home burglaries.

Over the past two weeks, nine home or apartment burglaries were reported, according to police documents.

Police said residents should:

  • Report suspicious persons or activity to 911 immediately;
  • Remember to lock all windows, doors, shed and fences;
  • Ensure trees and hedges are trimmed and proper lights are installed;
  • Utilize any security alarm systems available;
  • Be mindful of neighbors' property

"Becoming security conscious can dramatically reduce crime in your community," Kline said.

Earlier in February, Philadelphia issued a warning for purse snatchers in Manayunk. On Friday, the 5th District and remove valuables from vehicles.

Reported burglaries occurred on the following streets:

  • 600 Walnut Lane
  • 500 Hermit St.
  • 100 Pensdale St.
  • 600 Green Lane (2)
  • 4100 Manayunk Ave.
  • 6000 Ridge Ave.
  • 100 Seville St.
  • 4400 Baker St.
