ACME Shut Down For Power Outage, Reopens Tuesday

Store shut down Tuesday afternoon.

After a three-hour closure,  reopened Tuesday afternoon slightly past 4 p.m.

A power outage shut down the store at 5927 Ridge Ave. after 1 p.m., customers and store employees confirmed.

Caution tape strewn over two shopping carts alerts customers that something was amiss at the super market. For those who continued into the parking lot, two PECO trucks and an employee telling them the store was closed were the next clues.

Originally, ACME attempted to reopen by 2:30 p.m., but initial plans to restore power proved ineffective. Later, an employee outside the store told customers it would reopen at 4:30 p.m., which was a conservative estimate, as it opened a little earlier than anticipated.

Calls to the corporate office were not immediately returned, so it's currently unknown whether certain merchandise was impacted or not.
