Roxborough Man Arrested in Sibling Fight, Guilty of One Count

Mark F. Bennett was found guilty of one charge related to Aug. 7 incident; three other charges withdrawn.

Following being arrested in early August for allegedly beating his brother with a steal railing, a Roxborough man was found guilty of one count, according to court records.

Judge Karen Y. Simmons in Philadelphia Municipal Court found Mark F. Bennett, 50, guilty of possession of instrument of crime with intent Aug. 27, and sentenced him to 12 months probation and to pay court fees, according to court records. She dismissed three other assault charges.

Philadelphia Police arrested Bennett at his home on 4700 Fowler St. in Roxborough, Aug. 7 for a physical altercation he had with his brother. According to police records, Bennett struck his brother with a piece of steel railing, injuring his leg.

After police arrested Bennett, he reportedly banged his body around the police wagon, inflicting injuries to his body. Police said he was intoxicated.

Charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and aggravated assault were withdrawn.
