Roxborough Police Beat: Dunkin Donuts Rampage, Cab Fight and Assaults Reported

Philadelphia Police in the 5th District report a list of incidents.

A Dunkin Donuts costumer threatened employees and ransacked the Ridge Avenue store following an argument between him a store employee Jan. 24.

Police report that a male customer became irate after an argument with employees when he was in the drive-through lane. He then entered a store, wielding a knife and threatened employees after 5:40 p.m. at 7100 Ridge Ave.

While the two employees hid in the back, the customer reportedly broke off the counter door, knocked donuts to the floor and vandalized the property. He then fled in a white pickup truck.

Surveillance footage was not immediately available, police said, but the store is trying to get police access. 

Main Street Woman Attacked

Police said Jan. 29 that four women reportedly attacked a woman at 4200 Main St. after 1:15 a.m. The woman told police she was repeatedly kicked and punched in the head. She sustained a concussion and was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital.

Taxi Cab Fight

A taxi cab driver became violent following a fare dispute, police said. After a driver transported a man and a few friends to 100 Green Lane Jan. 29, a disagreement occurred. In the following tussle, police reported that driver struck the man in the head with a lug wrench and fled the scene. 

Police responded to Roxborough Memorial Hospital where the man gave a statement. He sustained a small cut on his head.

Musical Equipment Stolen

Resident from 400 Green Lane told police Jan. 29 that more than $2,200 in musical equipment was taken from their house. In the report, tenants said a roommate removed various guitars.

Other news:

  • For the second consecutive week, police reported all four tires stolen from vehicles. Tires were taken Jan. 26 from a yellow 2009 Nissan 370Z at 4000 Cresson St. and Jan. 29 from a red 2009 Honda Civic at 100 Connaroe St.
  • Police arrested a man Jan. 28 for allegedly taking $217 in merchandise from ShopRite on Ridge Avenue.
  • More than $4,000 in valuables were reportedly taken Jan. 29 from 4300 Cresson St., including Tiffany's jewelry, a Timex watch and prescription drugs.
