Roxborough Police Beat: Sedan Stickup, Shovel Fight, Tires Taken

Philadelphia Police in the 5th District report a list of incidents.

Philadelphia Police reported a motorist driving in Manayunk was threatened by a gun, though nothing was stolen.

Just after midnight Jan. 22 a red sedan full of identified males drove past another vehicle. The unidentified complainant told police the passenger in the sedan rolled his window down, pointed a gun at the other car and said, "Seriously, give me your wallet."

However, the vehicle drove away on 4300 Cresson St., and no injuries or missing items were reported.

Car Stays, Tires Gone

Though a man didn't report a car stolen, all four tires were missing from his wife's vehicle. A man told police Jan. 21 that all tires were taken from a silver 2010 Honda Fit parked at 300 Carson St. overnight. In total, the tires were valued at $1,000.

Thefts Reported at Church, Hospital

Police responded to thefts reported at Roxborough Presbyterian Church and Roxborough Memorial Hospital.

After 6 p.m. Jan. 19 a woman told police that an unknown man came into the church at 8230 Ridge Ave. asking for directions. Later, when removing her cell phone from her purse, she noticed her wallet (which contained $40 and various bank, gift and insurance cards) was gone.

While leaving her office for a brief time before 2 p.m. Jan. 21, a hospital employee noticed her wallet missing when she returned. In canceling her credit cards, she learned several purchases had already been made. The wallet contained $30, ID and credit cards.
