Rumors Lead to Robbery at Delmar St. Home

Police report two men beat up and took $4,500 from Roxborough home.

Philadelphia Police said two men stole more than $4,500 from a Delmar Street home in late July following an argument.

On July 24, a resident on 300 Delmar St. told police two men knocked on his door. The one asked to speak with him, and the two entered the home.

Upon getting inside, the second man got into a dispute with the resident, becoming enraged over rumors he heard, police said. The man put the resident in a headlock several times.

Following the physical altercation, the men took $4,543 in cash the resident had on his dining room table. The one man fled out the back door, while the other ran out front.

The resident told police they fled westbound on Delmar Street in a silver truck with unknown tags.

No arrests were reported nor did police release detailed descriptions.
