Seville Street Residents Frustrated with Break-Ins

After a rash of car break-ins Seville Street residents are becoming proactive.

Residents of Seville Street have recently banded together after a string of car break-ins in the last week.

"We've been leaving our glove boxes and center consoles wide open so that whoever these burglars are know there is nothing in our cars," said one resident who did not want to be identified.

The same resident added, "Additionally, the neighbors have all agreed to keep our porch lights on to provide more lighting on the block."

Philadelphia police recommend that all residents make sure their car doors are locked, and that all valuables are removed from the vehicles.

That includes GPS systems and roof ski and bicycle racks.

Police also ask that residents report any suspicious behavior on their property or their neighbors' property.

According to the police, a security conscious neighborhood can dramatically reduce crime.
