Stolen $1,000 Recovered in Upper Roxborough—Police

Glove box theft leads to woman's arrest.

Philadelphia Police arrested a female in Upper Roxborough earlier in July for stealing $1,000 in cash from a car, police said.

On July 13, a man told police he observed a female taking an undetermined amount of money from his 1998 black Volkswagen Jetta, parked on 7600 Ridge Ave. at 6 p.m.

Later an officer observed a woman walking around the area meeting the description. Police stopped and questioned her, leading to the recovery of $1,044 in cash.

Additionally, police said the woman possessed pills believed to be illegal narcotics. 

Police did not release the woman's name. She was transported to Northwest Detective Division for questioning.
