Thefts and a Few Burglaries in This Week's Reports

The following arrest information was supplied by the 5th district police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft ... While on patrol, two officers saw a man attempting to gain entry to several cars parked in the 300 block of Shurs Lane, police adding that the male fled westbound on Shurs Lane, jumped into a car and left the scene. A $100 Ipod was taken from one of the vehicles. 

Theft ... Between Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. and Aug. 28 at 11 a.m., the right front window of a car parked in the 4300 block of Mitchell Street was broken and a navigation system, wallet, checkbook and Ipod were stolen, police said.

Theft .... Between Aug. 27 at 9 a.m. and Aug. 28 at 4:40 p.m., a white male and a white female were seen tugging on a fence a property in the 200 block of Green Lane that is currently under construction, police said, adding that the owner discovered that two large basin sinks and four cast-iron bathtubs, worth a total of $1,600 had been taken from the fenced-in area.

Theft ... Between Aug. 24 at 5 p.m. and Aug. 26 at 5 p.m., a license tag, worth $75, was stolen from his vehicle parked in the 4100 block of Pechin Street, police said

Theft ... On Aug. 26 it was reported that the window of a car parked in the 4700 block of Fowler Street was broken and CD's, a phone charger and change were taken, police said.

Burglary ... A resident of Fountain Street contacted police Aug. 26 after discovering that someone had entered his detached garage between Aug. 14 and Aug. 26 and taken assorted drill bits, a bolt combo kit and a porter cable air compressor, police said. 

Burglary ... A home on Gates Street was entered between Aug. 22 and Aug. 26 and 15 rings, worth a total of $200 were taken, police said, adding that entry was gained by forcing a basement door open.

Theft ... On Aug. 26 it was reported that a tarp was removed from a trailer parked in the 400 block of Paoli Avenue and a $165 microwave was taken, police said. 

Burglary ... Four guns, worth $2,000, were stolen from a storage unit at Public Storage, 7571 Ridge Avenue, between 3 and 8 p.m. Aug. 24, police said, adding that the business had removed the lock on the unit due to lack of payments. 

Theft ... Between 3:30 and 6:15 p.m. Aug. 27, the window of a car parked in the 4200 block of Tower Street was smashed and $700 worth of items including three pairs of sunglasses and a Vera Bradley bag containing jewelry and makeup were taken, police said.
