Three Aggravated Assaults & One Robbery at Gunpoint Reported in July

The information was gathered from 5th district police reports for a portion of the month of July.

According to 5th district police reports, there were three aggravated assaults and one robbery at gunpoint in early to mid-July in the Roxborough-Manayunk area.

On July 5 at 1:01 a.m. man's motorcycle was stolen from him at gunpoint in the 6200 block of Ridge Avenue, police adding that the man quickly fled south on Ridge Avenue. 

Just about two hours later, in an unrelated incident, two men wearing masks and gloves entered a home in the 200 block of Lemonte Street and beat a resident in the legs and head with a baseball bat, reports stated, adding that he was taken to Einstein Hospital in stable condition.

The next day, July 6, a gold and silver sedan pulled up to a man walking in the 300 block of Leverington Avenue around 3:50 a.m., pointed a gun at him and took a shot, police said, adding that vehicle fled eastbound on Leverington. The area was checked with negative results, police added. 

On July 17 a man who was walking in the 400 block of Green Lane was approached by another man who asked if he had a problem, police said, adding that when he said no he was hit over the head with a 40-ounce malt liquor bottle.

He was taken to Roxborough Hospital and treated for a facial fracture and abrasions, police added.
