Woman Flips Car, Freed with 'Jaws of Life'

Kelly Cook, 41, of the 4500 block of Smick Street, was charged with DUI.

The Philadelphia Fire Department used a 'jaws of life' device to recover a woman from a one-car accident that occurred at the corner of Manayunk Avenue and Green Lane last night, the department has confirmed.

The accident occurred at 10:21 p.m. on Jan. 12. After reporting to the scene, fire personnel found an overturned 1996 Toyota Camry with Kelly Cook, 41, trapped inside. After recovering Cook from the vehicle, authorities transported her to Einstein Hospital, where she is being treated for undisclosed injuries and is in stable condition.

According to Philadelphia Police officer Jillian Russell, Cook has been charged with DUI. It was determined that she hit a parked car and flipped over her vehicle.
