Chaka Fattah's Son Under Investigation By FBI, Treasury Dept.

The probe focuses on Chaka Fattah Jr.'s consulting firm.

According to reports from NBC10 Philadelphia and The Philadelphia Inquirer, the son of U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-2) is under scrutiny from the FBI and the U.S. Treasury Department for payments made to his consulting firm.

Chaka Fattah, Jr. is the owner of 259 Strategies, L.L.C, a consulting company. According to reports, the investigation is looking at why the firm was paid $450,000 by Delaware Valley High School, an education firm that has received millions in contracts from the Philadelphia School District.

The reports stated that Congressman Fattah, who represents Roxborough and Manayunk, was not part of the investigations, either. A spokesman from his staff, Ron Goldwyn, told Patch that Fattah's statement on the matter was this: "Of course I stand by my son. However our office is not involved. I will await the results of the investigation before making further comment.”
