Councilman Jones Backed For Majority Leader

It's looking like the leadership team for the Democrats in City Council will include Jones, an article on Philly.com stated.

Councilman Curtis Jones to be part of the Democratic leadership team on city council? He says he hopes so.

The councilman cofirmed Thursday that was "actively pursuing the majority leader position" in City Council, an article on Philly.com stated.

"A leadership team is beginning to coalesce," Jones said in the article.

Although nothing has been confirmed, Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown may have wrapped up the majority whip job. 

"Basically, we are in the process of finalizing the reorganization of City Council's leadership team, with a team that we believe is balanced and represents the characteristics of the City of Philadelphia," Councilman Darrell Clarke, who secured enough votes last week to become Council President, said in the article.

The three would form the leadership team for the Democrats, who hold 14 of the 17 seats, and set direction of a Council that soon will have six new members.
