Curtis Jones, Majority Whip?

'Daily News' speculates on contenders for City Council leadership position.

Though Curtis Jones, Jr. is entering only his second term in office, the Philadelphia Daily News reports he could be getting a status bump.

Representing Roxborough and Manayunk in the , Jones may soon be representing the Democratic caucus as majority whip. The Daily News reports that Jones has secured enough votes to nab the position when presumptive Council President Darrell Clarke takes over. Jones was reportedly promised a leadership role for his support of Clarke's council president candidacy, according to the story.
