Daily News Calls At-Large Race For David Oh

City officials finalize remaining council race.

Confirming the writing on the wall for several days, city officials announced that Republican David Oh won the remaining at-large Philadelphia City Council seat, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

In the Nov. 8 election, of each other for the final seat. Following a counting of provisional and absentee ballots by the Philadelphia City Commissioners, Oh was named winner. This prevents a repeat of a previous electoral defeat, when Oh barely lost in 2007. 

Taubenberger, who lost the mayor's race to Michael Nutter in 2007, conceded defeat to the Daily News.

An attorney, Oh will join Dennis O'Brien as the other minority party at-large council member in 2012. were reelected last week. It appears as if the new Republicans will operate under the leadership of Democratic , who many outlets report will have the votes to be council president.
