Daily News: City Money Will Pay For Yellow Buses For Schools

City Council is planning to approve giving the school district $53.4 million.

A portion of the the $53.4 million City Council is planning on giving the School District of Philadelphia will pay for  the district had been planning to cut, according to a report by the Philadelphia Daily News.

According to the report, Superintendent Arlene Ackerman and other district officials met with met with Mayor Michael Nutter Tuesday to talk about how the money would be spent. The money will also pay for reduced class sizes in some classrooms and will fund the restoration of some elements of the Bright Futures program.
