State Representative, Pamela A. DeLissio, D-Montgomery/Philadelphia, was sworn in to the House of Representatives today, beginning her second term as a legislator.
DeLissio's opponent, Linda Wolfe Bateman, passed away earlier in December.
Today's swearing-in ceremony marks the beginning of the 2013-2014 legislative session, the 197th of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
“Today finds me just as proud as I am humbled to enter a new year and session with new challenges and opportunities," said DeLissio, who was also elected vice chairwoman of the House's Southeast Delegation of the Democratic Caucus for 2013.
“Legislative initiatives this session will include pension and transportation funding and another difficult budget discussion,” said DeLissio. “I will continue to ardently represent our community and cast informed votes. My commitment to an ongoing dialogue with constituents also continues, and Town Hall meetings are scheduled for January."
