Low Turnout Throughout City on Primary Day

Locally, Curtis Jones ran unopposed.

On an primary day that saw low voter turnout throughout the city, and carried even less intrigue for Manayunk and Roxborough as Councilman Curtis Jones (D-4th District) ran unopposed, there were few surprises.

In the mayoral primary, incumbent Michael Nutter (D) defeated challenger Milton Street by over 50 percentage points, while in the Republican nomination battle, Karen Brown and John Featherman are separated by less than 60 votes.

In the City Council at-Large race (where each party nominates five candidates), Blondell Reynolds Brown, William Greenlee, and Bill Green have sewn up Democratic nominations, while the last two spots are too close to call. On the Republican side, Davide Oh, Dennis O'Brien, and Joe McColgan have effectively wrapped up nominations, while the last two spots are likewise up for grabs.
