Pam DeLissio to Co-Host May 5 Energy Summit

Along with state representatives Briggs and Gerber, DeLissio has invited officials from PECO and the PUC to help residents make sense of recent changes to energy companies and energy costs.

Democratic state representatives Tim Briggs, Mike Gerber and Pamela DeLissio, the latter of whom represents parts of Manayunk and Roxborough, have planned an “energy summit” for May 5th at Lower Merion High School.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction Room at the high school (315 E. Montgomery Ave., Ardmore).

The May 5 discussion will center on “recent changes to energy companies in Pennsylvania and how those changes can help reduce home energy costs,” according to a statement. Representatives from the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and PECO will be on-hand.

A spokesman for Briggs told Patch on Tuesday that there is no other agenda for the meeting beyond consumer changes to energy bills.

Briggs represents the 149th Pennsylvania Legislative District in Harrisburg, consisting of portions of Lower Merion Township, all of Upper Merion Township, and the boroughs of Bridgeport and West Conshohocken. He sits on the on the House Transportation Committee, and is a member of the House “Green Dog Caucus,” a pro-environment coalition. He lives in King of Prussia. Gerber represents the 148th, made up of the boroughs of Narberth and Conshohocken, as well as parts of Lower Merion, Plymouth, Upper Dublin, Whitemarsh and Whitpain townships. He is chairman of the 20-member Southeast Delegation in the Democratic Caucus, and is one of 11 board members on the State Employees’ Retirement System, the state’s $25 billion retirement fund. He lives in Whitpain Township.

DeLissio's district is the 194th, consisting of the lower southeastern portion of Lower Merion Township and portions of Philadelphia east of City Avenue and north of the Schuylkill River. She resides in Roxborough.
