State Rep. Parker Facebook Friends With Judge in DUI Case

The judge suppressed evidence against Parker in her DUI case earlier this month.

According to Facebook, state Rep. Cherelle Parker, D-200, and Judge Charles Hayden are friends.

That wouldn't be a big deal, except just about a week ago Hayden ruled to suppress all evidence against Parker in her DUI case. 

The online "friendship" is causing some concern, CBS Philly reported.

"Just because two people are linked on the site does not mean an actual connection," the article stated. "However, that may not be the case when it comes to judges."

but Parker maintains that she had one chocolate martini.

, Hayden threw out evidence against the state rep citing the arresting officers' "less than truthful testimony," the discrepancies in the officers' stories and one officer's zero-tolerance policy for drinking and driving.

In his testimony in September, the 14th district officer said he believed a person could not consume one beer and operate a vehicle appropriately. He also testified that 100 out of the 200 people he arrested for DUI, were not intoxicated.

"I cannot rely on the testimony of either officer," Hayden said at the ruling earlier this month.
