State Rep. Parker Still Awaiting Trial

The representative's trial was scheduled to begin Monday but was continued.

Although State Rep. Cherelle Parker, D-200th, who was arrested several months ago for DUI, was in court Monday morning at the Criminal Justice Center on Filbert Street, her trial did not begin.

It was continued until next month because an officer needed for the trial is on vacation.

Parker, whose district includes Andorra, was arrested and charged with DUI in early May.

Earlier reports stated that Parker was arrested in the 5800 block of Baynton Street in Germantown. She was given two chemical breath tests after she was pulled over but the results were not released.

This is the second time that her trial, that was originally scheduled for early July, was continued.

The trial is now set for Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. in courtroom 806 at the Criminal Justice Center.
