Volunteers Needed for Spring Clean-Up

Wissahickon Neighbors Civic Association is seeking volunteers for the Philly Spring Clean-up scheduled for April 13.

Wissahickon Neighbors Civic Association President Andrew Bantly asked residents to volunteer for the neighborhood's cleanup efforts that will coincide with the city-wide Philly Spring Clean-up.

“This is the sixth year that we’re going to be doing this,” Bantly said.  “We were actually one of the first groups in the area to participate in this event.  We’ve been doing it from the start.”

The spring clean-up is scheduled for Sat. April 13, and Bantly hopes to get working at around 9 a.m.

“I figure we’ll be out there until about noon,” Bantly said.  "But people don't need to stay the whole time.  You can only be there for an hour if that's all that you can do."

Bantly added that this year’s cleanup will focus on the Woodland lot, and that there will also be trash pickup on Salaignac Street.

The city will provide trash bags and equipment for the event.
