Wendy's Hearing Moved to Nov. 13

The zoning hearing for the proposed Wendy's has been pushed back to Nov. 13 due to overwhelming interest.

The Zoning Board of Appeals hearing for the proposed Wendy's project at 5901 Ridge Ave. has been moved to Nov. 13, at noon.

The hearing will take place at 1515 Arch Street, 18th Floor, ZBA Hearing Room 18002.

The hearing was originally scheduled for Nov. 6, but had to be moved due to increased interest in the hearing.

The hearing is necessary because the developers of the Wendy's need a special exception from the city in order to construct a drive-thru at the corner of Ridge and Roxborough Avenues.

The plot is already zoned for a restaurant, but the city requires a special exception for drive-thrus and take out.

The project has created a lot of controversy ever since the Bunting House was demolished at that location.
