7 Favorite Roxborough/Manayunk Restaurants

Roxborough Area Man's FIRST Top 7 Blog—Personal observations from someone who moved to the area 10 years ago and wants to remind natives and newcomers to what is really good about the area.

As someone who is NOT a local, but has lived here for 10 years, I've noticed that the locals tend to fail to appreciate what is really good about the area.

And there is quite a lot that is very, very good...to that end I am starting a blog here I'll call "Roxborough Area Man's Top 7." I'll include what I personally feel to be the top 7 of a particular thing...

...and today's Top 7 is an easy one to start on—Top 7 Roxborough/Manayunk Restaurants.

1. , Mitchell Street—Great Southwestern-style food, happy-hour food and drink deals, friendly staff that remember who you are, Margaritas that solve most of your problems... and Monica!

2. , Ridge Avenue—Old-school Italian restaurant, unique specials, a lounge singer (who takes requests), fair prices and generous portions. It's not nice, per se, but it's awfully nice to eat there.

3. , Ridge Avenue—No restaurant list would be complete without a pizza place, so here's my favorite OVERALL pizza joint. would be my first choice, but delivery is a MUST with pizza, and it's just enough to give Mr. P's my vote.

4. , Henry Avenue - And like #3, no list in Philadelphia is complete without a cheesesteak joint. Chubby's beats by a nose, in my opinion, because a booth and counter beat folding tables any day - and you can get a Lager draft at Chubby's.

5. , Main Street—Best bar food in the Roxborough/Manayunk area, making a limited menu shine.

6. , Main Street—Family-friendly restaurant with fantastic adult fare and drink... breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food makes it worth the trip.

7. (), Lyceum Avenue—No deliver, tiny kitchen, and you have to wait outside... for the best Asian food in the area. EVERYTHING is cooked to order, while you wait, and it's well worth that wait.
