Students organize can drive and volunteer at the community center.

Thanksgiving reminds us all to appreciate what we have. Additionally, as students from Green Woods Charter School experienced, the holiday spurs us on to helping others less fortunate.

Steve Masterson, dean of faculty, coordinated part of the effort and discussed the importance of helping out.

Families at the K-8 school currently housed at the former St. Mary's and St. John's buildings sought to bring in two cans a kid, roughly 835 cans. At North Light, students sorted 2,316 cans—nearly tripling the output.
