Henry Got Crops, the farm partnership between Weavers Way Co-op and is hosting Harvest on Henry Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

The event will feature live music, hayrides, harvest craft activities, face painting, pumpkin painting, raffles, a pie bake-off, samples of farm products and fun kids games, a release stated.

Submission for the pie bake-off can be submitted in two categories: fruit or other and must be dropped off by 2 p.m. The winners of the competition will be chosen by local celebrity judges. It cost $15 to enter and two pies must be submitted -- one for the competition and the other for "Henry Got Crops", a 2.5-acre farm at the high school that is managed by farmn staff at Weavers Way.

On the campus, the farm provides educational opportunities for the students to learn about small-scale, organic vegatable growing, the release continued, adding that it is a community-supported agriculture with more than 100 members. The members buy a share of the farm and are then entitled to a share of the crops each week. It is one of the first high school-based CSA's in the country.

Proceeds from the event will help support Henry Got Crops, and will reduce the price of a vegetable share for people who want to sign up for a membership in the farm but for whom the cost is prohibitive.
