The end of months generally mark a deadline to be met. The transition from April to May is no different. Below is a list of some local and citywide deadlines, which run through May 7.

- When: April 30-May 1, midnight
- What: The annual online survey from Philly Beer Scene details all (and we mean all) aspects of the brews in the Delaware Valley. Voting closes at midnight Monday for input on beers, restaurants, writers, distributors—anything beer-related for the city and suburbs. is nominated, so support.
School District of Philadelphia Job Opportunities
- When: May 1
- What: Several summer employment options, including secretaries, non-teaching assistants and nurses, can be applied for through Tuesday. Applications are available on the school district's website.

- When: May 2-4
- What: Open up the spring by honoring great achievements from students during the 2011-12 school year. Awards will be given out Tuesday (Grades 1-3), Wednesday (4-6) and Thursday (7-8).
