Philly.com: School District Prepares For Additional Budget Cuts

Cuts could affect local schools.

School District of Philadelphia officials said it needs to cut an additional $22 million in educational program, according to coverage of Wednesday's School Reform Commission meeting on Philly.com.

They can't be staffing cuts, according to Chief Financial Officer Michael Masch—they must come from school programs themselves.

Schools throughout the district have already taken major budget hits. Nearly every school lost some staff, while some were forced to cut arts programs and other major mainstays.
